For an on-the-go, heart health snack you might like to try the Kardea bars--balanced nutrition--7g protein, 7g fiber, 1g plant sterols for cholesterol lowering, low sodium balanced with potassium, nut-base delivers good monounsaturates, vegetarian, kosher, carries FDA health claim for heart health, only 150 calories and delicious--great aroma, texture and after-taste too. If interested in samples, email us at customerservice@kardeanutrition.com.
Two things you can do to help your liver would be to detox & strengthen the liver cells. To detox the liver, juice a beet and an apple and drink a 1/3 of that 3 times a day. Do that for 3 days and then repeat every month. Next, you can strengthen the cells of the liver with an herb called Milk Thistle. Milk Thistle also increases the production of bile, which helps flush toxins. Milk Thistle does many good things for the liver. You can research that route.
Thank you very much, Kate for your suggestion. I really prefer for this site to give natural home remedies like yours. I don't want this to be a site for people to market their products (like the comment above yours) unless I have had a chance to review them myself. I really appreciate your feedback and will give that liver detox and milk thistle a try myself as well as pass it on to my father. Your comments are always helpful and welcome here!

I swear by Milk Thistle.
My liver panels were way off for several yrs due to non-alcoholic fatty liver.
I started taking Milk Thistle, and in less than two mos my numbers were normal.
Milk thistle is reputed to be very good for the liver.
